Mother2Mother, in partnership with Safe Shores—The DC Children’s Advocacy Center, is proud to announce the debut of “Songs of Hope: Voices Raised to End Child Abuse” cabaret show to be held at Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse in Arlington, Va. on April 11, 2019.

Twice a year, the nonprofit Mother2Mother (M2M) supports a Washington, D.C. 501(c)(3) organization that advocates for at-risk women and children.

“At M2M, we promote our featured organization in a cabaret-style show with music from a variety of pop, jazz, Broadway and Off-Broadway selections and an original script written specifically for the event,” says M2M co-founder Lauren Feliz-Durishin. “We believe that women have the unique power and strength of empathy, motherhood, feminine willpower and drive, which when combined towards a community goal, can accomplish amazing efforts.”

“Songs of Hope: Voices Raised to End Child Abuse” will benefit Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center, a direct-service nonprofit dedicated to supporting and working with child victims of sexual and physical abuse in the District of Columbia. Additionally, Safe Shores works to prevent child sexual abuse through education and training.

“The cabaret show is an important and inspiring community event for the Washington, D.C. metro area. Weaving together the mission of Safe Shores with classic stage sound, M2M wants to encourage the community to protect children from child abuse,” says Feliz-Durishin.

The event is for ages 21+. Full drink and dinner menu available. General admission: $20. Doors open at 6:30 PM. The show starts at 7:30 PM.

100 percent of proceeds will benefit Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center.

Founded in 2017, M2M seeks to bring more awareness to the great causes of their featured organizations through the reimagining of Broadway songs and real-life stories and facts.

The Chuck Brown Band brings the Go-Go to Mo-Co at one of our favorite rooms, Bethesda Blues & Jazz

Cabaret style reserved seats at tables and a large dance floor to get your Go-Go Swing on.

Doors at 6pm, Show at 8pm.

The band that toured the world with the Godfather of Go-Go carries the torch and keeps the beat alive.  The Chuck Brown Band continues to keep the legacy alive by performing all your Chuck Brown and Go-Go favorites, and by creating new music and bringing on board new fans and followers.

With three new songs on the final Chuck Brown album. “Beautiful Life” and rave reviews from longtime fans and new fans, the Chuck Brown Band is dedicated to the heartbeat of the DMV: Go-Go

With the addition of Frank Sirius on guitar and vocals, the rest of the band is intact, including Chuck’s daughter KK, Chuck’s son Wiley, the Horny Horns, Kenny “Kwickfoot” Gross, Mighty Moe Hagans, Doug Crowley, Sweet Cherie Agurs, and Marcus Young.com.

Ain’t no party like a Chuck Brown party, cause a Chuck Brown party don’t stop.  Every show still starts with Wind Me Up Chuck, and doesn’t stop until the dance floor is empty
