The Red Tent Symposium for Women – A Two Day Event Addressing The Needs of Women

The Spring edition of The Red Tent Symposium for Women returns with even more interactive and inclusive and interactive workshops and lectures, a special Pre-Tent Pampering Session on Friday evening, Sunday programming, day rates, lectures and storytelling, panels, guided solution sessions, AND a pop-up marketplace.

Created by Lil Soso Production’s Risikat “Kat” Okedeyi, The Red Tent Symposium for Women is a two-day exchange centered on the needs of women. Based on the novel The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, the red tent symbolizes a sacred and safe space where women can exchange ideas and insights. With the continuing motto: “Problem-Solving Outside of the Framework”, the Symposium will feature women-led workshops, lectures and panel discussions centered on problem solving in areas such as life balance health, advocacy, intuitive arts, mind over matter and more. The ultimate goal, as with each symposium, is to create effective dialogue and authentic exchange by and between women.

According to Kat, “The red tent symbolizes exchange. It isn’t a conference, but a genuine healing experience in a safe and sacred space.”

“I want women to get past that idea that gathering in this way requires perfect hair, make-up, a smart looking outfit and a stiff handshake. We are about comfort and ease, embraces and honesty. In the tent the teacher/student/leader/follower are purposely blurred so that as women we can recognize our full potential.”

The topics are reflective of the varied needs of women, so there is something for everyone.
“In a world that is constantly side-stepping the existence of the sacred feminine, women are in a fight for our collective lives. We can no longer sit back believing is said about women. It is more than being able to play the “man’s game”. It’s about recognizing our divinity and therefore our rightful places as co-creators and co-leaders of society. In the tent we tee learn how to listen to the divine that exists within. By doing this we are able to as our motto states, problem-solve outside the work.”

The Symposium will take place the weekend of April 13-15th. For more details please visit www.entertheredtent.com.
